The National Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre (NVPC) is excited to the launch of our Valentine’s Day Volunteer Campaign, “Share the Love” in support of Year of Celebrating Volunteers. This year’s campaign, commencing on 5 February 2024 and culminating on 13 March 2024, aims to encourage Singaporeans to express and celebrate their love through volunteering with their loved ones.

So, make it a memorable date out this Valentine’s Day by volunteering with a loved one, family or your friends with a cause close to your heart. Showing love to those around us, especially the under-privileged and disadvantaged, can spark joy and fulfilment in many more hearts during this season of love.

SOS (Samaritans of Singapore) is a non-profit organisation that specialises in crisis intervention and suicide prevention work in Singapore. Singapore has reported the highest recorded number of 476 suicides since 2000 (a concerning rise of 25.9% as compared to 2021), and ever since January 2022, SOS CareText has gone 24/7 and receives close to 1600 texts every month. Of all incoming texts, over 50% of clients presented suicide risks. As such, there is an immediate need to support more individuals in distress.
