Team Information

The Community Partnerships team (CP) team envisions a Singapore where charities and groundups are supported to effect change, and leaders step forward to advance society. Part of the Centre for Non-profit Leadership group, the Community Partnership team comprises the BAGUS team and the NPO team.

The BAGUS team supports groundups initiatives as a first stop platform that helps groundups start, sustain and grow.

The NPO team helps to develop the capabilities of charities in deepening their impact in communities by focusing on 4 key areas:

1. Fundraising Capabilities 

Leveling up charities’ fundraising capabilities through learning programmes and clinics on the various aspects of fundraising (e.g. donor management and story telling) and sharing insights of donor and donation analysis and trends to grow campaign effectiveness.

2. Impact Measurement Capabilities 

Deepening Impact Measurement byestablishing common frameworks for charities and piloting with the help of skilled volunteers to implement these frameworks, so as to helps non-profits understand their value, aid in measuring progress towards goals and adjustment to ensure performance.

3. Leadership & Governance Capabilities 

Enhancing Governance through BoardPulse (Self-assessment diagnostic tool to strengthen leadership capability and capacity) and Board Match (Flagship matchmaking programme to bring diversity and rejuvenation to Boards of Non-Profits).

4. Community Building & Collaborations

Building the NPO community through various networking events such as CEO Breakfasts, BoardConnect and Fundraising Community Series

Programme

This role is focused on supporting the NPO team.

The key goals for the NPO team in FY24 would be to:

 1. Gain in-depth knowledge of charities

 2. Build relationships and the community with NPOs

 3. Kickstart account management of Charities in collaboration with SMD (Segments and Markets Development) team.

Responsibilities

1. Support the engagements of charities to build relationships, deepen knowledge of charity sector and support other NVPC teams with charity queries and recommendations.

2. Synthesise insights from engagements to plan and develop future initiatives for engagement, community building and capability development for charities.

3. Conduct research and analysis on Giving.sg, charities and the sector to develop a consolidated resource of essential information about charities.

4. Assist in the clean up and build up of data in our customer relationshiop management system, Salesforce,

5. Assist in the organisation and execution of the team’s and NVPC’s events.

Requirements

  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge and passionate about the non-profit sector would be a bonus
  • Strong listening skills and collaboration skills
  • Ability to analyze information in a meaningful way
  • Good at planning, organising and project management
  • Proficiency in MS office suite
  • Openness to embrace new ideas, ways of working, learning and proactively giving and welcoming feedback
  • Team player with a collaborative mindset
  • Interns from any field of study in Polytechnic or University may apply.

Deliverables

  • Gain a keen understanding of Singapore’s giving sector, in particular deep knowledge of charities
  • Engagements with charities through NVPC’s various programmes
  • Data gathering, assimilation and analysing data in the area of fundraising of charities
  • Be part of the team that is pioneering the work supporting charities in the area of fundraising, impact measurement, community building and collaborations for charities.

We are looking to hire an intern who is able to commit for more than 3 months.
