Intern, Collaborative Impact

Team Information

This role sits in the Collaborative Impact team, and within Corporate and Industry Partnerships. CIP aims to develop and support organisations through a national “Company of Good” strategy where Singapore recognises (through a membership and awards programme) companies who are giving back to the country in order to remain competitive. The Collaborative Impact team structures impact projects with companies so as to enable their growth in their corporate purpose journey.

Key projects for the team include:

  1. Corporate Volunteering Pilot (wave 1: Apr 2023 – Feb 2024; wave 2: Nov 2023 – Aug 2024)
  2. Company of Good Fellowship Homecoming (Jun and Jul 2023)
  3. State of Play (Jul 2023 and Feb 2024)
  4. Networking sessions (Aug 2023 and Jan/Feb 2024)

The candidate will support relevant projects within his/her internship period.

Key Deliverables

  1. A more connected eco-system between the private, people and public sector through access to opportunities to contribute and lead purposeful do-good efforts;
  2. A growing map of opportunities for corporate collaboration, with the intent to benefit community and Singapore;
  3. A corporate-centric approach to synergising all CIP and NVPC services/initiatives, with the intent to create a culture of collaboration

Work Scope

A) Project admin including:

  • Monitor, follow up and track attendance of all events
  • Send pre- and post-event emails (reminder to attend event, asking for feedback etc)
  • Draft simple slides on impact opportunities for CIP (1-2 times a month)
  • Schedule concurrent meetings with multiple stakeholders
  • Take simple notes at meetings with external stakeholders e.g. volunteer centres, companies etc
  • Upload attendance and related data into Salesforce
  • Tracking of performance of programs
  • Research on companies and Volunteer Centres and follow up from meetings.

B) Project logistics support including:

  • Source for suitable F&B, venue options and other related items for events
  • Receive F&B items, setting them up at designated areas and ensure proper clean-up after
  • Set up venues (at NVPC and external) and tear down after

Learning Experiences:

  • Deeper understanding of the thinking behind CSR efforts e.g. why do they choose these causes, why these approaches of giving, how they navigate the lack of resources to still contribute
  • Acquire strong stakeholder engagement skills e.g. what’s needed when speaking with different people like corporates, Fellows, internal colleagues, vendors etc.
  • Pick up basic skills in event management
