Building on the local knowledge and passion of employees, Standard Chartered Bank Singapore’s giving is very much tied to Singapore’s specific issues.

To Ms Lee Woei Shiuan, leader at Standard Chartered Bank Singapore’s Employee Volunteering (programme), “the most impactful volunteering comes from individuals who tried volunteering with the bank and then went on to spearhead initiatives of their own. Because they found something meaningful”.

Back in 2002, Ms Lee rallied a group of staff volunteers to help forge a relationship between MINDS and the bank, hence the creation of CreativeMINDS Thrift Shop at the Hougang Community Club. . .
