Team Information

The Groundup Partnerships team at NVPC journeys with everyday individuals to start and sustain their own non-profit initiatives. We’re passionate about enabling people with fab ideas solve social issues through the power of the community, and our greatest reward is seeing complete strangers come together to bring smiles to the faces of those around them. If you’re keen on making a difference to the lives of social starters all over Singapore (and don’t mind the hard work involved to make it happen!), join us and discover the difference you can make! 


The intern will be part of the team pioneering a new pilot project that will eventually become the core of the groundup space in Singapore. The project aims to journey with groundups in sustaining their impactful work by:

  1. Nurturing groundups who focus their efforts on supporting the functional needs of other groundups (IT support, marketing, photography, storytelling, finance, etc.)
  2. Transforming underutilised physical spaces into vibrant, active hubs for groundups to congregate and collaborate
  3. Build the capabilities of the groundup leaders through a series of learning experiences

Learning Opportunities

The intern will:

  • An immersive experience to understand first-hand the challenges that social starters face
  • Develop a holistic understanding of the groundup landscape and the support currently available to them
  • Uncover identifiable gaps in the project and ideate potential solutions for implementation


  • Engage, inspire and be inspired by the groundups that are involved in the project
  • Be the guardian of our information bank to ensure the team has the most updated information at their fingertips
  • Fact-check, understand and assess the eligibility of groundups who apply to be part of this project
  • Assist in sensemaking the who’s who in the groundup landscape
  • Assist in the running of events and operations

  • Able to work during weekday evenings and weekends 1-2 times a week (offset from regular working hours)

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

  • A strong understanding of groundups is not necessary, as we will guide those new to this area of work through various engagements and experiences
