What’s that we hear?

It must be the ripples of excitement coming from students as we welcome the first school holiday of the year – hooray!

As the school holidays arrive, we understand that it can be stressful for parents to plan a whole week of activities to keep your children occupied. What can we really do in this little red dot?

Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered!

Here are 5 volunteering activities on Giving.sg that we have curated for you to spend meaningful time with your families during the March holidays.

Grow A Garden With Your Family

If your family likes hands-on work and does not mind getting those hands dirty, Mindful Space x Cangkul Zen are looking for volunteers to participate in gardening activities that will be held at 10 Winstedt Road.

The Make A Difference (MAD) Garden aims to bring people, especially children to appreciate nature and cultivate healthy mindful living.

Gardening experience is not required, perfect for family bonding!

Empower Mothers And Families

Only when we uplift one another, can we grow stronger together! Volunteer with Safe Place and be part of a community vested in empowering mothers and their families. You can lend your support in roles such as training, fundraising, sponsorships, training, and more.

Deliver Meals To The Elderly

Another great option for hands-on volunteering is distributing food packs with the SG Cares Volunteer Centre at Bedok. Volunteers will be helping to distribute food packs to frail and homebound seniors.

They are especially in need of volunteers who can drive their own vehicles to deliver the food packs. So if your family has a car, consider this for family time!

Conduct Outreach Walks in The Community

Never underestimate the power of being a listening buddy to those who need it. The SG Cares Volunteer Centre in Yishun is organising a weekly outreach to vulnerable persons in the community to assess their well-being, distribute care packs and lend a listening ear to any difficulties or situations they are in.

Volunteers will refer them to the Social Service Offices (SSOs) for any follow-up assistance that might be required.

Attend A Volunteer Recruitment Talk
